West Sound STEM Showcase 2018 (April 28)
This year was the 5th annual event, held at Kitsap Mall and hosted by West Sound STEM Network (WSTN). WSTN is a dynamic collaboration of educators, business leaders, and representatives from local government and the military, working to introduce and link students, teachers and the community to the vast array of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) resources in our region. As with other STEM Networks in Washington, the goal is to enhance student learning in these key academic areas.
Each year the Showcase presents science, technology, engineering & math principles at a fun, interactive event. The most recent Showcase included nearly 60 booths, hosted by dozens of area organizations showcasing hands-on activities to engage youth of all ages. Hits have included a catapult challenge, underwater vehicle exploration, robotics, rocket launches, bridge building, field medicine, egg drops, animals, circuitry, X-ray technology, and more.
