A tablet works as a starter, but as a full development environment your child will eventually need a laptop.
Kids can explore Scratch, Python, JavaScript, web development, game design, Raspberry Pi projects, and more. We suggest beginner/intermediate/advanced projects each session, but kids are free to work on their own thing.
Very loosely — no formal lecture. Mentors float the room and help when asked. A lot of learning happens between kids. Collaborative, informal, and self-paced by design.
They move on when they’re comfortable. They may revisit concepts in new ways — that’s the learning process.

For coding basics: a $200 Chromebook or $300 Windows laptop does the job. For gaming at better framerates, you’re looking at $800–$1,000. Ask whoever in your family you turn to for tech advice.
