West Sound Technology Association partners with like-minded organizations to amplify the mission of an innovative technology economy — including STEM education and career opportunities for women, Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), and other underrepresented or underserved communities.
West Sound CoderDojo is our flagship initiative, founded by strategic advisor and co-founding member Doña Keating in March 2015. WSTA became co-founding partner, holding the first CoderDojo session that May.
Founded as West Sound Technology Professionals Association (WSTPA) to foster a vibrant local technology sector. Held hundreds of meetings on databases, web & mobile development, social media, Microsoft tech, Linux, and more.
Renamed to West Sound Technology Association (WSTA) to reflect our broader audience spanning tech, business, education, government, and nonprofit communities.
Doña Keating identifies CoderDojo as the initiative with the greatest and quickest impact for STEM education. West Sound CoderDojo launches May 2, 2015.
WSTA transitions to operate as a foundation, focusing on supporting technology and education through CoderDojo and other initiatives. Memberships discontinued; operations now funded by sponsorships and donations.
Some of our partnerships can be viewed under Event Photos, including:
We welcome both corporate and individual donations and sponsorships. Donations of $250 and above receive special recognition and are promoted on this site, in email communications, and across our social media channels.
